It's a two-chamber artificial badger sett linked together and to the outside world with piping. Visitors to the bird hide can lift up a hatch in the floor and gaze down in to this subterranean hideaway. Of course, the residents may not always be there, so in 2010 a system of infra-red security cameras were set up covering the chambers and nearby bird boxes. The system automatically records whenever activity occurs.
