The Past
Peter Foster's Uncle, John Metcalfe was the last Blacksmith in the village of Grewelthorpe. The business ran until the 1930s. After he passed away, all his old equipment (anvils, hammers, swage block and vices etc) got transferred to Peter. The equipment has laid in storage ever since, unused for decades.
The Present
At the start of 2019, two local artisan Blacksmiths called David and Harry came up to Lime Tree to once again breathe life in to the old forge. Their company is called Apollo's Raven.
The Future
Once the new blacksmith's forge is up and running, we are hoping to have demonstration events and personal experience days available for the public.
